Gain experience in a supervisory role within Circus Arts.
The Coach-in-Training Course is the entry level into becoming a coach at Circus Arts. The aim of this course is to educate new coaches on the following key learning elements:
– Safety
– Group management
– Teaching fundamental skills in Gymnastics, Aerials, Acro, Trampoline, Ninja & more.
– Leading warm-up and cool-downs
– Teach and supervise games
– Understand age-appropriate activities
– Create routines and skill sequences
Requirements: 14+ Age. Previous participation in Circus Arts classes/holiday programs is preferred.
What’s Included:
1 Day Coach-In-Training Course
1 x Workbook with information from the course
1 x Circus Arts T-shirt (to be worn as a uniform for shadow coaching)
10hr + Shadow coaching with certified coaches including in-class evaluation tasks
As a Coach-In-Training (CIT), candidates will always be working with a qualified coach for the duration of the training & shadow coaching phase of this course. The goal is to gain confidence and experience leading a group, and to learn and implement safe, positive and fun activities in the circus.
At the successful completion of this course, candidates will be eligible to partake in further coach training courses (Flying Trapeze, Aerials, Trampoline) and work up to becoming a qualified coach and teach the term classes.
